Behind the Find: Desk Stool

One of my favorite “bachelor pad” clients and I found this killer Drafting Table at Celadon last year. We put it in the corner in his bedroom and decided that we’d wait until we found the perfect stool to go with it before buying anything.

Well, fast forward a few months and some meticulous searching…I found this killer vintage barstool that fits the space and the style like a glove!! SCORE!

THE FIND: A vintage, Mid-Century Modern Arthur Umanoff iron stool with woven rattan seat.

5 years! Wilderness Style

Your Interior Stylist is going off the grid for a couple days…My husband and I are pulling a wild hair this weekend in honor of our anniversary.  We are canoeing 4 hrs down the Edisto River & staying in a tree house in the middle of nowhere! …only a coincidence that WOOD is the traditional 5year anniversary gift!(I think that means I don’t have to get him a gift) Ha! Wish us luck!

Have a fun and adventurous weekend:)

when I found “my thing”

My love for interior styling really started in 2007, when I was working at domino. I was asked to prop style the story opener for the 3 “Best of” Issues (decorating, renovating and entertaining) .  I’m pretty sure I had no clue what I was doing.  So basically I gathered as much random stuff I could find in the storage closet, and created something pretty enough that it would actually go to print.

When something comes easy and natural, there’s a very good chance that that might be your thing.  I don’t know what it is about arranging accessories…but I just love it!!! I guess you could say that it’s…. just my thing?!!

Pretty much, when you find your “thing”(my grandmother Nonnie calls it the “fire in the belly”)….keep at it. run with it, and don’t look back. See what happens:) xo
